This Saturday Rosehill Racecourse will be home to the highly anticipated $200, 000 Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes (1100m) where eleven top-rated two-year-olds will take to the turf.
A number of the 2010 Silver Slipper contenders are on the path towards the illustrious $3.5million Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes on April 3 so it is set to be a hotly contested affair.
Hot favourite for Saturday is boom filly Chance Bye. The unbeaten Michael Tubman-trained daughter of Snitzel will jump from barrier eight and is currently at $2.50 for a win with Sportsbet.
Second favourite for the Silver Slipper is Ambers Waltz, the John O’Shea-trained Magic Millions Classic runner-up drawn in barrier ten.
Other highly fancied and talented starters include last start Widden Stakes winner Georgette Silk, the Peter Snowden-trained Divorces and Gerald Ryan’s Intertidal.
The Group 2 Franklins Supermarkets Silver Slipper Stakes will run as race five at 3:15pm. Other highlights on the day’s eight-event card are race six the $200, 000 Group 2 Hobartville Stakes and race four, the $125, 000 Group 3 Millie Fox Stakes.
