Kingston Town Classic Final Field & Barrier Draw

This Saturday Ascot racecourse in WA will host the year?s next feature race, the $500 000 Group 1 Kingstown Town Classic (1800m).

Currently heading the betting markets is Daniel Morton?s Scenic Shot at $3.60 having drawn close to the inside with barrier two. Scenic Shot is coming off sensational performances in both the Brisbane Winter Carnival and the Victorian Spring Carnival including victories in the Group 1 Doomben Cup, Group 2 Brisbane Cup and the Group 1 Mackinnon Stakes.

Second favourite at $5.50, the Tracey Bartley-trained Sniper?s Bullet has drawn poorly on the far outside with gate 18. The six-year-old ran third in the race last year and will be hoping to show his improved form since then with a win.

Trainer David Hayes is attempting his fourth Kingston Town Classic win with his runner Largo Lad ($16) due to jump from barrier 14 with Glen Boss aboard. Largo Lad had a dismal run in the Group 1 Railway stakes (1600m) at the same track but Hayes is hoping by adding blinkers to the five-year-olds? gear this Saturday he will perform better. Hayes took out the race last year with Niconero.

The Group 1 Go For 2&5-Kingston Town Classic is scheduled as race six at Ascot this Saturday.
