Revolition has beaten hot favourite Hay List to win Saturday?s Group Three Colonel Reeves Stakes (1100m).
Held at Ascot, the event proved to be too good for Hay List which, after leading in the straight fell back to sixth place.
With eight unbeaten runs to the gelding?s name, many thought the four year old would succeed in his first Group status race.
However, Revolition has never been beaten in an 1100m run and so the Brad Parnham-ridden gelding stormed home in the final 200 metres.
This was the horse?s seventh win from 16 starts and has elevated his career earnings to over $500,000.
Revolition was originally nominated for the 1000m race however as there were extra nominations for the Colonel Reeves Stakes, trainer Paul Jordan decided to ?chuck his name in there?.
Originally bought for $25,000 at the 2007 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale, Revolition managed to beat Hay List?s stable mate Back In Time after the horse pushed up from last place to narrowly miss the lead position to end as runner-up.
Following Back In Time was Ma Ma Machine in third place while Innovation came home late to finish fourth.
Meanwhile, Clueless Angel has won the Group Two Western Australian Guineas after beating race favourite Thorn Dancer by a head.
Trainer Lindsey Smith thought the filly may have run second but she managed a courageous win which has earned the three year old a spell until she goes to stud next year.
