Caulfield winners Alcopop and Allez Wonder have received their Melbourne Cup penalties by Racing Victoria handicapper Greg Carpenter.

After winning the Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes, Alcopop has been handed a 1.5kg penalty and is now weighted on 52.5kg for the Melbourne Cup.

Allez Wonder has been given a half a kilo penalty after winning the Group 1 Toorak Handicap last Saturday, totalling 50.5kg.

The Bart Cumming trained mare has now jumped from 49^th to 17^th in the elimination order while Alcopop, trained by Jake Stephens is 26^th from 63^rd on the order of entry.

While Allez Wonder is now guaranteed a position in the Melbourne Cup, Alcopop still needs to climb the ladder a few more steps.

Carpenter has already penalised Alcopop once before with a 1kg penalty for his win in the 2040m JRA Cup at Moonee Valley last month.
