Full field of 16 plus 5 emergencies for 2018 Magic Millions 2yo Classic

The David Atkins trained Jonker will carry the number one saddlecloth in the 2018 $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

As expected, the Magic Millions 2yo Classic will have a capacity field of sixteen plus five emergencies with the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Terminology being relegated to the second reserve position, but the Tulloh Lodge Team will have a runner with Whiskey Shooter filling the last spot in the sixteen horse field.

The undefeated Tony Gollan trained youngster Ef Troop will be ridden again by Matthew McGillivray and is the $4 equal favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au with last Saturday’s Gold Coast winner Sunlight from the Tony McEvoy stable.

Sunlight created a huge impression in the scoring a four and a half lengths win over Terminology in an 1100m two year old Handicap at the Gold Coast last Saturday.

Jonker is also well in contention at $5 with the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Bondi (Blake Shinn) the next in the betting at $13 with the Randwick co-trainers also set to saddle up Legislation (Damian Browne).

The Lindsay park trainer Nomothaj will be attempting to the win the Magic Millions 2yo Classic first up and has been posted at $15 with Stephen Baster retaining the mount after the pair combined for a debut win in the Listed $120,000 Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (1000m) at Flemington on October 7.

The Lee Curtis trained Meryl with Christian Reith in the saddle again goes into the Magic Millions 2yo Classic with high credentials coming off of a last start win in the Group 3 $200,000 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on December 30.

The Lindsay Park Team will saddle up Snitzel filly Nomothaj who will be ridden by Stephen Baster.
