The airborne Kelly Schweida-trained three-year-old Majestic Colour made it a picket fence on his form guide recording a fourth straight victory with an effortless win in the 2022 Winx Guineas results in the mud on Caloundra Cup Day.

The proven wet tracker continued his winning steak and added to his good record on Heavy going running away late in the Group 3 $200,000 Winx Guineas (1600m) on a Heavy (10) at the Sunshine Coast.
The nicely-bred son of So You Think was coming off a hat-trick of Brisbane wins in easier grade by big margins and posted another demolition job up in grade for the Guineas.
Jockey James Orman continued associations on the progressive youngster who donned the same colours as last weekend’s Group 3 Tattersall’s Cup winner London Banker for the Wanless family.
“It was a good win and he’s been putting them away quite easily at midweek grade,” Orman said.
“A big step up here today but he’s gave me the feel of a really good horse today. Maybe he got through the track better than everything else. He’s a progressive horse.”
Majestic Colour was drawn wide out in barrier 14 of 16 in this year’s Winx Guineas, but Orman got the horse up into a good position third behind the favourite Battleton who took up front running to lead.
Once on the straight, Majestic Colour ($4.60) hit the lead 300m out and kicked away for a bullish two-length win over up-and-coming Tarzino gelding Tarex ($9.50), third to the same horse last time out at Doomben, with the Robert Heathcote-trained filly Rayjen ($41), another So You Think progeny, in third to round out the Winx Guineas trifecta at big odds.
“I was a bit worried when the barriers came out that he was towards the outside and I was even more worried in the run when he was three or four wide the entire trip,” winning trainer Schweida told the media after the win.
“But Jimmy Orman said that it was his best ride coming into today so he’s a progressive type of horse for the Wanless family. We’ve trained winner for them, Ron and Judy.
“But they’ve been very patient with him. He’s taken a bit of time, he has an unusual action but he’s won four-from-four today so really pleased for the owners, the staff at home and Jimmy will be glad that one is over.
“He’s by So You Think so you’d think he’d get 2000 (metres) on his ear. But he can handle the wet. That was the bonus for us today and he’s a progressive type.
“Lovely looking horse and that is the best he’s looked today with a few little dapples on him. Well done to everyone concerned.”
