The official The Everest Barrier Draw 2021 is locked in with the reigning champion Classique Legend to defend his title from barrier five, one wider than the gate he saluted from last year.

It was the ideal draw for the Les Bridge-trained grey who has the perfect gate and three-time The Everest winning hoop Kerrin McEvoy aboard, Classique Legend looking to make history winning the race first-up.
Chris Waller‘s second elect and 2020/21 Champion Sprinter Nature Strip lines-up in his third The Everest and jumps from barrier 10 for the Waller Racing slot.
Waller is also represented in The Everest field in 2021 by Home Affairs for Coolmore, the three-year-old jumping from barrier six chasing a second victory for the young guns after the fellow Waller-trained Yes Yes Yes in 2019.
Along with Nature Strip, the other horse lining-up for a third shot at The Everest is the Godolphin-raced Trekking.
The old warhorse comes off a Group 1 Moir Stakes third at The Valley and is drawn well in barrier four with Josh Parr to ride again.
The rank outsider in The Everest betting at Ladbrokes.com.au, final slot holder Embracer jumps from barrier three for Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott.
Tim Clark has his fifth ride in The Everest partnering the Peter & Paul Snowden-trained last start Group 1 Moir Stakes winner Wild Ruler from barrier 11 who needs a Good track to be a threat according to the stable.
Another favourite in The Everest odds is the Hawkes Racing-trained Masked Crusader coming off the Group 2 Premiere Stakes win at the track/distance and jumps from gate nine with Tommy Berry to ride.
Also coming off a lead-up Sydney win is Joe Pride‘s Group 2 The Shorts champ Eduardo jumping from barrier 7 with Nash Rawiller in the saddle.
Gytrash meanwhile will look to improve on his third in last year’s The Everest trifecta drawn barrier one.
