The weather trackside in Sydney today is fine and sunny but, with a chance of showers later in the afternoon, there is unlikely to be an upgrade to the current Soft (5) Rosehill track rating.

Rosehill racing gets underway at 12:15pm and the nine-race card continues through until the last at 5:15pm.

While there are no Group 1 races taking place in Sydney this weekend, there’s still plenty of top-notch events to enjoy at Rosehill including the meeting’s marquee showdown running as Race 6.

A diminutive but class field of seven three-year-olds face off in the Group 2 $200,000 Run To The Rose (1200m) ahead of bigger targets later in the season including the 2020 Golden Rose Stakes.

The Run To The Rose betting is dominated by returning Golden Slipper champ Farnan ($2.15 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) who is nearing odds-on territory for his first-up run of the spring.

The smart middle-distance types do battle in the next with the Chris Waller-trained Funstar ($3.40 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) tipped to return to form and continue her Waller’s ace record in the Group 2 $200,000 Theo Marks Stakes (1300m).

The last of the Group races on the card is Race 8 at 4:35pm with the fillies and mares running in the Group 2 $200,000 Sheraco Stakes where Waller has withdrawn Fiesta (16) from her scheduled first-up run.

See below for the full The Run To The Rose Day race scratchings and jump times before heading to Ladbrokes.com.au for the top Saturday racing markets.
