Heavy rainfall in Sydney has seen Royal Randwick downgraded to a heavy 9 on Saturday morning, wreaking havoc on what was supposed to be a large 14 horse field on the final race of the day.
With just seven runners remaining, Race 9 has seen the likes of Chris Waller’s Metamporphic and John P Thompson trained Let’s Party Marty withdrawn from the 1200m sprint race, while fortunately, the 2018 version of the $500,000 Group 1 Spring Champion Stakes (2000m) remains relatively unchanged.
