Not only will be two Group 1 races be contested in the form of the Royal Randwick Guineas and the Canterbury Stakes, but we will get a clear picture of the Golden Slipper following the running of the Reisling Stakes and the Todman Stakes.

There is no clear favourite in the Canterbury Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes and there has been money for Global Glamour ($5), Clearly Innocent ($5), Happy Clapper ($6.50), Invincible Gem ($6.50), Showtime ($6.50), Endless Drama ($7) and Foxplay ($7.50).

James Cummings-trained Kementari ($2.50) is a clear favourite in the 2018 Royal Randwick Guineas betting market with Ladbrokes.com.au from D’argento ($5.50), Magic Millions Guineas winner Pierata ($6.50), Australian Guineas runner-up Peaceful State ($6.50) and Golden Rose-winner Trapeze Artist ($9).

2018 Royal Randwick Guineas Results

Race 1 (12:25pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Aspiration Quality Results

Karavali will head to the Epona Stakes following her win in the Aspiration Quality at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

The Pinnacle got her nose in front of Pioneering in the shadows of the post and looked like the winner, but Karavali charged late to record a narrow win.

Jason Collett gave Karavali a peach of a ride

  • 1st – Karavali
  • 2nd – The Pinnacle
  • 3rd – Nettoyer

Race 2 (1:05pm) – $125,000 Listed Fireball Stakes (1100m)

The David Pfieffer-trained Snitzel filly I Am Excited made it back-to-back wins backing up from a 1100m success at Rosehill to salute in the Fireball Stakes in her first black-type success.

Heading towards a shot at the Group 2 $600,000 Arrowfield 3YO Sprint at Randwick during ‘The Championships’, I Am Excited settled off the speed today that was set by Tim Martin’s $91 roughie Shudabeen and the race favourite Houtzen.

The returning Houtzen had the lead coming around the bend, but was quickly under siege on the straight with Acqume moving up and I Am Excited charging home from the back.

I Am Excited took the lead late in the final 50 to pull away and win by Acqume who worked much better today with the blinkers on.

It was a fairly flat performance first-up from Houtzen who held for third.

  • 1st – I Am Excited
  • 2nd – Acqume
  • 3rd – Houtzen

Race 3 (1:40pm) – $300,000 Group 2 Reisling Stakes Results

Estijaab led from start to finish to record a fighting win in the 2018 Reisling Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

It was not an easy watch for punters that took the odds-on quote for Estijaab – as Pure Elation and Sister Sledge both loomed late – but she did enough to return to winning form.

Estijaab will now head into the 2018 Golden Slipper and connections as well as jockey Brenton Avdulla are confident that she is a live chance.

  • 1st – Estijaab
  • 2nd – Pure Elation
  • 3rd – Sister Sledge

Race 4 (2:15pm) – $300,000 Group 2 Todman Stakes Results

The heavy fall of Hugh Bowman from Performer overshadowed the win of Aylmerton in the 2018 Todman Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Performer was just start to make up ground and looked set to finish over the top of his rivals, when he darted sideaways and threw Bowman from the saddle.

Bowman was conscious at the conclusion of the race, but will likely be taken to hospital for observation.

  • 1st – Aylmerton
  • 2nd – Ef Troop
  • 3rd – Tchaikovsky

Race 5 (2:50pm) – $500,000 Group 2 Challenge Stakes Results

Redzel bounced back from his Black Caviar Lightning Stakes defeat to take out the 2018 Challenge Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Super Too took up the running early and opened up a big lead, but Redzel always looked likely to run her down and he did just that.

Redzel is now set to head to Melbourne for the William Reid Stakes before he returns to Sydney for the T.J. Smith Stakes.

  • 1st – Redzel
  • 2nd – Jungle Edge
  • 3rd – Super Too

Race 6 (3:30pm) -$500,000 Group 1 Canterbury Stakes Results

Happy Clapper returned to the races with an excellent performance in the 2018 Canterbury Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Global Glamour took up the running in the early stages and gave a kick when she was asked for an extra effort at the top of the straight.

Happy Clapper was held up for running at one point, but he got out at the 250 metre mark and finished over the top of his rival to claim a second Group 1 win.

  • 1st – Happy Clapper
  • 2nd – Global Glamour
  • 3rd – Invincible Gem

Race 7 (4:10pm) – $1,000,000 Group 1 Randwick Guineas Results

Kementari showed that he had no issues running out a mile with an outstanding effort in the 2018 Royal Randwick Guineas.

Glyn Schofield waited a long time to make his move on Kementari, but the acceleration he showed when asked for an extra effort was absolutely mouth-watering and the race was over in a matter of seconds.

Kementari is likely to press towards the Doncaster Mile and he is on top of the betting market with Ladbrokes.

  • 1st – Kementari
  • 2nd – Pierata
  • 3rd – Trapeze Artist

Race 8 (4:50pm) – $150,000 Group 3 Wenona Girl Quality Results

Sugar Bella maintained her stellar record with an outstanding win in the 2018 Wenona Girl Quality at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Sugar Bella was at the tail of the field in the early stages of the race and she was still last at the 300 metre mark.

Miss Que was flying down the outside and looked as though she would be tough to run down, but Sugar Bella was explosive in the final 100 metres and she recorded the biggest win of her career to date.

  • 1st – Sugar Bella
  • 2nd – Miss Que
  • 3rd – Perizada

Race 9 (5:30pm) – $125,000 Listed Randwick City Stakes Results

Emperor’s Way held-off a fast-finishing Alward to win the 2018 Randwick City Stakes at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

There was plenty of money for Alward ahead of the Randwick City Stakes and he had every possible chance, but was unable to finish over the top of his rival.

Emperor’s Way has now recorded four wins on the trot and has earnt a stint in the spelling paddock.

  • 1st – Emperor’s Way
  • 2nd – Alward
  • 3rd – Singing
