Flemington Track Report – 11/11/2017

  • Rail: Out 3m Entire Circuit
  • Weather: Fine
  • Track Type: Turf
  • Track Rating: Good (3)
  • Irrigation: 5mm last 24 hours, 40mm last 7 days
  • Rainfall: nil last 24 hours, 2.2mm last 7 days

The Melbourne weather has been nothing short of outstanding during the 2017 Melbourne Cup Carnival to date and that is set to continue on Emirates Stakes Day.

The Flemington track played reasonably fairly on VRC Oaks Day, but the outside rail is likely where they will head for the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m) and luck in running has been crucial.

There has been a late scratching in the Darley Classic and Ladbrokes Manikato Stakes runner-up In Her Time has been removed from the race and will be sent to the spelling paddock.

The Emirates Stakes is the other Group 1 event on the card and there were a couple of scratchings earlier in the week.

Sir Isaac Newton was removed from the Emirates Stakes field early in the week, while Kennedy Mile runner-up Tom Melbourne was scratched from the Group 1 event after being found lame yesterday morning.

You can find all the 2017 Emirates Stakes Day scratchings below and we have also included links to our tips for all the big races!
