This Saturday Rosehill Gardens is in for a bumper Golden Slipper Stakes Day line-up with superstar mare Winx set to steal the show away from the two-year-olds when she races in the George Ryder Stakes 2017.

Chris Waller’s brilliant daughter of Street Cry chases an incredible sixteenth win on the trot when she continues her stellar Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign in the $1 million Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m).
So far everything has gone exactly to plan with the five-year-old winning the Group 2 Apollo Stakes (1400m) – Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes (1600m) double as she did last season.
Now she is set to defend her George Ryder Stakes title and go back-to-back in the weight-for-age clash for the first time since Lonhro (2003-04) before rounding out her autumn in the $4 million Group 1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) next month.
The ten-time Group 1 winner dominates the eleven original George Ryder Stakes entries, Racing NSW extending nominations until 11:00am (AEDT) on Tuesday morning.
Waller has a total of three entries with the odds-on favourite in George Ryder Stakes betting Winx joined by stablemates Endless Drama and last start Liverpool City Cup winner McCreery.
The stable has dominated the George Ryder Stakes results in the past seven years preparing four winners with Danleigh (2010), Rangirangdoo (2011), Metal Bender (2012) and Winx (2016).
Winx had a major tune-up for her Golden Slipper Stakes Day run with an exhibition gallop between races at Rosehill on Coolmore Classic Day last weekend.
Also chasing three straight wins this campaign are the Darren Weir-trained Black Heart Bart and the Kris Lees-trained Le Romain.
Black Heart Bart comes off the CF Orr Stakes – Futurity Stakes double over 1400m at Caulfield and is yet to run at Rosehill.
He faced Winx in the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley last spring, but could only manage to cross 13 lengths off the record-breaking eight length winner in the Australasian weight-for-age championship.
Along with Black Heart Bart, ace Victorian trainer Weir has also nominated for his Japanese import Tosen Stardom who comes off a Futurity Stakes second.
Tosen Stardom has had one previous Rosehill run when still prepared overseas, running second in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) in the autumn of 2015.
Le Romain is a consistent four-year-old son of Hard Spun who posted his third career Group 1 at Randwick on March 4 saluting on a mud track in the Canterbury Stakes (1300m).
He now chases the double last achieved by Pierro (2013).
The other standout entry is the Team Hawkes-trained Chautauqua who continues his rise up the distance ranks.
The champion sprinter was last seen running second to Le Romain in the Canterbury Stakes and heads towards a possible Randwick run on April 1 during ‘The Championships’ in the $3 million Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m).
