The most anticipated day on the Australian Racing calendar takes place at Victoria’s Flemington Racecourse today with Melbourne Cup Day 2015 lighting up the rack, the full scratchings across the 10-race program and track report found below.

Racing kicks off on Melbourne Cup Day at 10:40am (AEST) and goes through until Race 10 at 5:15pm (AEST), the first and last on the card both holding Group 3 status.

There are also three Listed support races on the line-up with Race 6, Race 8 and Race 9 all holding black-type status.

Of course the most anticipated event on the program and the marquee clash runs as Flemington Race 7 at 3:00pm (AEST) when this year’s edition of the $6.2 million Group 1 Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) runs over the two miles.

A full Melbourne Cup field of 24 stayers faces off in this year’s edition of the ‘race that stops a nation’ with no current scratchings meaning the classic will run at capacity for the third time in four years.

Leading Melbourne Cup betting at Ladbrokes.com.au, who are offering Best Tote or SP + 20% on Flemington Races 1 – 4 today, is the Japanese-trained Fame Game ($4.60) looking to improve on his sixth in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on debut.

The early Melbourne Cup market movers however are: Ed Dunlop’s Caulfield Cup runner-up Trip To Paris ($8.50 into $7.50), Chris Waller’s Zabeel four-year-old drawn a treat in barrier 11 Preferment ($9.50 into $9), Irish raider Max Dynamite ($13 into $11) last seen winning the Group 2 Lonsdale Cup (3300m) in York and Godolphin’s English visitor Sky Hunter ($67 into $34).
