This season’s $3 million Group 1 W.S. Cox Plate (2040m) is due to jump as Moonee Valley Race 9 of 10 on the huge Moonee Valley card on Saturday where customers at Ladbrokes.com.au can enjoy an Extra 50% on their very first Fixed Odds winner in Races 1 – 5!

The Cox Plate field runs at its 14-starter capacity for the fifth straight year and five of those weight-for-age stars are at single figures to win in the latest Ladbrokes markets.

The easing favourite out from $5 to $5.50 is Irish raider Highland Reel drawn a treat in barrier four with last year’s Cox Plate – Melbourne Cup double winning hoop Ryan Moore aboard.

His trainer Aidan O’Brien got the job done with Adelaide 12 months ago and the lead-up form of his hope in 2015 reads very similar.

The next best in better is then Chris Waller’s Epsom Handicap winning mare Winx ($7.50 into $6) who shoots for her fifth straight win but has to stay out of trouble from the inside alley and the internationally-performed Caulfield Stakes winner Criterion ($6.50) who has drawn ideally with gate seven.

The last of the single figure fancies are Waller’s dual Group 1 winner over the mile in Sydney Kermadec ($8) in gate 10 with Glen Boss in the saddle looking to atone for his last aboard Royal Descent in the Caulfield Cup seven days ago and Craig Williams’s mount Arod ($8.50) for English horseman Peter Chapple-Hyam who is undefeated over the distance.
