Lightly-raced Fastnet Rock filly Harlem River has opened favourite to win first-up and enjoy her second black-type victory in the 2015 Thoroughbred Club Stakes at Caulfield Racecourse on Saturday.

She faces off against 10 other three-year-old fillies under set weights plus penalties conditions in this year’s $150,000 Group 3 Thoroughbred Club Stakes (1200m) that runs as Caulfield Guineas Day Race 3 at 2:10pm (AEST) in Melbourne on the weekend.
Jumping from barrier seven with Blake Shinn aboard, Harlem River was last seen breaking her maiden status in her third career run at the Gold Coast in Queensland on June 20 defeating Star Of Night by a length in the Listed Tattersall’s 2YO Classic (1400m).
She’s had two barrier trials in Sydney since for two Randwick wins over 736m and 1045m respectively and now leads Thoroughbred Club Stakes betting at $3.90 through Ladbrokes.com.au who are offering Best Tote or SP + 20% on ALL races at Caulfield on Saturday!
Four other hopefuls are also under $10 for the Group 3 win including Secret Agenda ($4.20) drawn wide in the outside barrier 11.
A Mick Price-trained local daughter of Not A Single Doubt, Secret Agenda may have a nasty gate but after a first-up 1200m win at Sandown-Lakeside and a last start second to Take Pride in the Group 3 Champagne Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley she has the class to make her a genuine threat.
The other single figure hopes are Serene Majesty ($8.50), the in-form Invincible Heart ($9) set to get a gun run from barrier two and Cocoa Doll ($9) in just her second career run after a win on debut last time out.
Peter & Paul Snowden prepare Serene Majesty, also a daughter of Fastnet Rock, who won two back over 1250m at Canterbury by an impressive five and a quarter lengths before she stepped up in class at Randwick on September 5 to cross sixth to Speak Fondly in the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m).
She’s running the other way of racing here but drops in class a little and should be growing in ability.
Price meanwhile prepares not only Secret Agenda but also last start winners Invincible Heart, who won over 1200m at Caulfield just last Saturday, and Cocoa Doll who saluted in Adelaide in late September and who has Craig Williams riding this weekend.
The early Thoroughbred Club Stakes market mover meanwhile is Viddora backed in from $12 to $10 thanks to a nice barrier three draw for the Lloyd Kennewell-trained daughter of I Am Invincible.
Prepared in Adelaide, she has won two of her four starts to date and was last seen making her Melbourne debut when sixth in the Champagne Stakes with improvement to come.
Also in the mix at more generous odds are the likes of fellow $10 hope Serenade coming off a Champagne Stakes third who will get the perfect run from barrier five with Glen Boss to ride her home hard late and the rails-drawn Little Indian ($18) who ran third to Invincible Heart here last weekend.
