2015 Thousand Guineas Prelude Tips

Eleven runners remain in contention for Saturday’s Group 2 Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) following today’s scratching of Effortless Miss; offering punters even greater value from a betting standpoint and several key opportunities to place a winning wager.

Stay With Me ($3.70) has returned to racing in exceptional condition this time and remains clear favourite in 2015 Thousand Guineas Prelude betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au as a result, ahead of Pasadena Girl and Miss Gunpowder; currently sharing the second line at $5 quotes.

Will Stay With Me continue her unbeaten spring run through the 2015 Thousand Guineas Prelude or will one of her talented rivals claim a big upset?

1st

Stay With Me ($3.70)

Stay With Me will need some luck in transit from barrier 10 in the 2015 Thousand Guineas Prelude but is a proven performer at the track and distance and will be very hard to beat in the Group 2 race for fillies. Debuting in February for second in the Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m), the daughter of Street Cry returned to the paddock after a credible performance for fifth in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) and has taken out each of the APM Group 3.y.o Maiden Plate (1200m) and Listed Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1200m) with complete ease this time.

2nd

Jameka ($10)

Jameka will have taken plenty of benefit from her first-up run for third in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes and offers fantastic value for money at current Thousand Guineas Prelude odds of $10 for success or $3.20 to finish in the first three. Performing well in a pair of Victorian minor sprints upon debuting in December, Jameka ran on for fourth in the Talindert Stakes before charging home to win the Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) on March 14th. Allocated the ideal barrier 6, Jameka has been confirmed to be partnered by champion hoop Damien Oliver for the second time competitively on Saturday.

3rd

Pasadena Girl ($5)

Trainer Peter Moody revealed earlier this week that Group 1 winner Pasadena Girl has not found peak condition ahead of the Thousand Guineas Prelude, but the filly’s class is sure to count for a lot in the field of eleven. Winning each of the Talindert Stakes and Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) upon debuting in autumn, the Savabeel filly ran on for fourth in the Group 1 ATC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) before breaking through for a maiden win at the highest level in the Group 1 Champagne Stakes (1600m) on April 18th. Having run on for second in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes, Pasadena Girl offers great value as a selection in a Thousand Guineas Prelude trifecta.
