Tonight’s Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes (1600m) at the 2015 Royal Ascot Carnival has attracted a small but talented field of eight milers, boasting some of the world’s best over the distance and offering punters great value from a betting point of view.
Hong Kong-based hero Able Friend ($2.50) carries exceptional form into his British racing debut and has maintained position on the top line of 2015 Queen Anne Stakes betting at Ladbrokes.com.au as a result, ahead of Solow ($2.60) and clear market mover Night Of Thunder ($5.50).
Will Able Friend continue his scintillating run of form through the 2015 Queen Anne Stakes or will one of his talented rivals find the line in the clear?
1st
Able Friend ($2.50)
Australian-bred, Able Friend began his racing career under the guidance of Team Hawkes in Sydney before being purchased and transferred to the care of John Moore in Hong Kong prior to his 2013 campaign. Finishing outside the first three only once in 18 career starts, the Shamardal gelding has undoubtedly found career-best form over his current preparation and is undefeated in his last six starts; four of which at Group 1 level. Sure to find good running position despite drawing barrier 7, Able Friend will be partnered by regular hoop Joao Moreira.
2nd
Night Of Thunder ($5.50)
Having opened at a quote of $6 for success, punters have continued to direct their attention towards the Richard Hannon-trained Night Of Thunder, who is sure to cause Able Friend serious headaches in the 2015 Queen Anne Stakes. Posting four wins and as many minors through just nine career starts, the Dubawi entire capped an impressive 2014 campaign a close second in the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (1600m) in October; returning this time for success in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes (1600m) at Newbury on May 16th.
3rd
Solow ($2.60)
Standout French miler Solow is undefeated in his last six competitive starts and will be aiming for a third-consecutive Group 1 win in the 2015 Queen Anne Stakes after taking out each of the Group 1 Dubai Turf (1800m) and Group 1 Prix D’Ispahan (1850m) most recently. Allocated the ideal barrier 4, Solow is arguably at his best distance at 1800m and may struggle to match the late pace of Able Friend and Night Of Thunder.
