The heavily backed Flippant lived up to expectations with an all the way win in the Listed $140,000 Pryde’s Easifeed Woodlands Stakes (1100m) at Scone today.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Flippant firmed in from $5 with heavy support on track to start the $3.20 favourite and winning jockey High Bowman gave her followers no worries at any stage of the race.

Flippant will now head to Brisbane for the Winter Carnival and run in the Listed $100,000 Lancaster Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on June 6.

The Snowdens have already had plenty of success in the Brisbane Carnival with a winning treble last Saturday with I’ve Got The Looks in the Listed $10,000 Juanmo Stakes (1200m), Charlie Boy in the Group 3 BRC Sprint (1350m) and the feature of the day, the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) with Hot Snitzel.

With the blinkers on for the first time Flippant bounced out for the barrier crossed to the lead from barrier eleven to control the race from up front.

Bowman had the Hinchinbrook filly three or four horses off the fence on the home turn and let her stride away in the straight to record a comfortable two and a quarter lengths win over the Gai Waterhouse first starter Harlem  River ($9) and Chris Waller‘s Miss Antaeus ($13).

Flippant was having here fourth race start and the Snowdens decided to add the blinkers to the filly following her second to Sempre Libera in a 1200m midweek two year old NMW at Rosehill on April 1.

The filly had since won a 740m Randwick barrier trial on May 8 which was the foundation for the solid betting support today.

Today’s win was Flippant’s second following her debut win over 900m at Muswellbrook on March 3.

Runner up Harlem River made up good ground in the straight as did third placegetter Miss Antaeus.
