Nominations for the 2014 Group 3 Frances Tressady Stakes (1400m) have been released, with 12 runners poised to line up on Flemington’s 1400m course for race nine on Saturday, including Power Princess.

Well-trialled mare Power Princess has amassed an impressive record of 12 wins from 31starts since debuting on track in August 2009.
Having progressed through most of her racing career with trainer Simon Miller at the Aquanita Stables, Power Princess was transferred to the care of leading Victorian trainer Mick Price at the end of her 2013 preparation.
Despite opening her sixth year as a professional racer with a rather disappointing eighth behind likely Frances Tressady Stakes opponent A Time For Julia in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes at Caulfield two weeks ago, Price is confident in the abilities of the seven-year-old daughter of Marwina and believes she will cause a serious threat on Saturday from any barrier.
Following a strong yet short debut preparation that delivered two wins and a second from only three starts, A Time For Julia returned to the spelling paddock for nearly 10 months before reappearing in the spring of 2013 when second behind Octavia in the Group 3 Cockram Stakes (1200m).
Electing to only enter the classy Redoute’s Choice mare in Group level events throughout her spring preparation, the Peter Moody-trained four-year-old managed third behind Commanding Jewel and Catkins in the Group 2 Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m) before quickly fading and returning to the spelling yard following a forgettable run for eleventh in the Group 2 Blazer Stakes (1410m) on October 5th.
Returning to the track in blistering form when comfortably overcoming a talented field in the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes on February 8th, Moody has also nominated A Time For Julia for an appearance in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes at Sydney’s Rosehill Gardens on Saturday, and will decide on which event to chase following Wednesday’s barrier draws.
Moody appears set to dominate the final field for the 2014 Frances Tressady Stakes, having also nominated stablemates Floria and Sino Eagle for Saturday’s Group 3.
Having joined Moody’s stables after being imported from New Zealand in February 2013, Floria has so-far managed one win and four places from seven starts in Australia, including victory in the Group 3 Summond Stakes (1600m) most recently.
Classy four-year-old Sino Eagle has produced a near perfect 2014 preparation so far, following up an unlucky second in the Browns Sawdust And Shavings Maiden (1200m) with wins in the Sportingbet Best Tote Plus (1200m) and Indian Summer Handicap (1400m) on February 15th.
