This Saturday Hawkesbury Racecourse will come to life with a bumper day of black type racing including the fillies and mares’ Darley Crown 2013 where the Gai Waterhouse-trained Miss Stellabelle has opened the narrow favourite.

Due to run as Race 5 at 2:45pm (AEST) the $150,000 Listed The 2013 Darley Crown (1300m) originally drew a final field of 12 hopefuls but there are just 11 left in contention following the early withdrawal of Bound To Blush who had the extreme outside barrier.

Current top fancy in the Darley Crown odds is then the 58kg topweight Miss Stellabelle who has come up trumps with barrier two and Blake Shinn to ride.

The Dehere four-year-old has been in top form over the past month running third and then second to the Chris Waller-trained Arinosa, bound for the Group 1’s in Brisbane following her exciting form in Sydney, in the Group 3 Birthday Card Stakes and Group 2 Sapphire Stakes respectively.

Hot on Miss Stellabelle’s heels in the Darley Crown betting markets is then a stablemate of Arinosa, Dystopia at paying $3.30 to keep Waller’s winning streak alive this autumn.

Drawn in barrier seven the Redoute’s Choice six-year-old also comes via the Sapphire Stakes having run fourth only a long neck off Miss Stellabelle, their previous run being a fourth to the freakish Bel Sprinter in the Group 1 The Galaxy (1100m).

The other single figure fancies in the Hawkesbury feature on Saturday are then Peter Snowden’s resuming Lonhro mare Quidnunc and Sapphire Stakes sixth placed grey New Beginning who both pay $9 to upset the favourites.
