Red Tracer remains the rightful favourite ahead of tomorrow’s 2012 Millie Fox Stakes, especially with rain likely to see the Rosehill Gardens track rated at either slow or heavy.
The Chris Waller trained horse is undefeated from two starts on heavy and has won her only start on a slow track.
The mare is currently at $2.60 and we at Races.com.au think she will be tough to beat in race seven (5:00pm VIC time) at Rosehill tomorrow.
In her last start, the four-year-old finished third in the NSW Thoroughbred Breeders Classic and has six victories from 14 outings.
One horse that may challenge Red Tracer over the 1300 metre Group 3 race is second favourite Steps in Time ($4.40).
The mare has won her last two starts which included beating race favourite Red Tracer and Beaded in the NSW Thoroughbred Breeders Classic on February 18.
Trained by John O’Shea, the mare has four wins from just seven starts, with all four coming over similar distances to the Millie Fox.
She could face problems with the conditions on Saturday as she is yet to record victory in the wet.
Some value can be found with Gai Waterhouse trained More Strawberries ($9.00) with the four-year-old recording three wins from 15 starts.
One problem for the mare could be the barrier as she has drawn number 10 but with the experienced Nash Rawiller on top she remains an upset chance.
Ladys Angel ($5.00) is another who should finish near the front of the pack and has the advantage of a barrier four start and experienced rider Corey Brown holding the reigns.
Other horses included to contest the $125,000 race are Jersey Lily ($11.00), Montana Flyer ($16.00) and Kneeling ($18.00).
For those who like to chase the very long odds, Crafty Irna ($61.00) may be worth a look with the Ron Quintion trained mare having two victories to her name.
