Doomben 10,000 winner Beaded has been the best backed runner for Saturday’s Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm.

Beaded has been the best backed runner in the Stradbroke Handicap
Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan said that the Peter Snowden trained mare had come in for good support before she won the Doomben 10,000, and had been very solidly backed since the victory.
“She is clearly our worst result for the Stradbroke at the moment and I have no doubt punters will keep coming for her even now she is in to $5.00.
Love Conquers All and Black Piranha are on the second line of betting at $6.50.
Black Piranha has positioned himself as a Stradbroke Handicap specialist. The Con Karakatsanis trained seven year old has won just two races since February 2009. They have been the last two Stradbroke Handicaps.
Smart punters may already be backing Love Conquers All to run yet another second in a Group One race.
In his last three starts, Love Conquers All has finished second in the Doomben 10,000, the Doncaster Mile and the George Ryder Stakes. In two of his three starts before that run he was second in the Canterbury Stakes and the Apollo Stakes.
Woorim has been the best backed local runner for Robert Heathcote while Sincero has blown a gale since the QTC Cup on Saturday.
Before the QTC Cup, Sincero was a $5.00 favourite for the Stradbroke. Since finishing four and a half lengths behind Varenna Miss his price has drifted to $9.00.
Varenna Miss remains solid at $13.00 although, trainer Tony Noonan is yet to decide whether he will start the lightly raced mare in the Stradbroke or the Winter Stakes.
Hurtle Myrtle and Skilled are both in the market but both are considered to be unlikely starters in the event.
Former Group One sprinter All Silent is listed at $26.00 and may come in for some support as Nash Rawiller has been booked for the Graham Begg trained horse.
Punters who backed Beaded before Black Caviar and Hay List were confirmed as non-runners could have got odds as high as $15.00 for Beaded in the Stradbroke.
“There has been some money around for Love Conquers All and Woorim as well but punters think Beaded is clearly the one to beat.” Sullilvan said.
