Nominations are out for the Group 2 Fillies Classic scheduled to be held at Moonee Valley this Friday night, March 4th 2011.
The $200,000 race is for three-year-old fillies and run over a 1600m distance.
A quality list has been assembled which includes a few horses no doubt hoping for a run in the upcoming South Australian Oaks or even the Group 1 Australasian Oaks.
Both horses which placed in their last start Mitty’s Vanity run at Flemington have nominated for this event.
Do Ra Mi ran second to Southern Speed with Count Your Fingers coming in third.
In fact seven of the nine horses which ran in the Mitty’s Vanity have nominated to run in the 2011 Fillies Classic at Moonee Valley.
Precious Lorraine is in desperate need of a form reversal after failing to place in the Mitty’s nor any of her recent runs.
New Zealand horse Shamrocker also failed to live up to expectations as well as Absolutely which was third in the line of betting.
Completing the list of horses backing up from that race is the Lee Freedman trained Becerra and Anthony Cummings trained Bride Salma.
There are currently 15 nominations with only the 14 starting positions available.
