2011 Morphettville Breeders Stakes Nominations

There have been just 12 nominations for the 2011 Breeders Stakes at Morphettville this weekend.

The Group 3 Breeders Stakes is worth $115,000 for two-year-olds at set weight and is run over 1200m.

The highest rated horse to be nominated is Peter Moody’s Golden Archer, however he has also been nominated in other events for this weekend – Listed Streets Ice Cream Stakes Nominations.

That means he’s unlikely to line up, but if he did there’s no doubt he’d be a huge favourite.

The rest of the contingent is mostly locally trained, locally bred horses looking for a good build up into the Adelaide Cup Carnival.

Horses which perform well in this race will likely go on to contest the Group 3 Jansz National Stakes or if good enough the Group 2 SA Sires Produces Stakes.

The best rated of the other runners are the Stuart Gower trained Anythingthatmoves as well as the Mathew Ellerton and Simon Zahra trained Redangelo.

The race changes form dramatically depending on the movements of Golden Archer so be sure to check back and look at the final field.

It will either be a clear cut one horse race on Luxbet or a wide open Adelaide contest.
