Lightning Stakes Day Betting – 2011 Talindert Stakes Tips & Odds

The elite racing action of Flemington’s 2011 Lightning Stakes Day kicks off at 12:50pm (AEDST) tomorrow with the opening event also the first black type feature on the card, the $100,000 Listed Talindert Stakes (1100m) and here we have the best Flemington Race 1 Betting Tips.

The 2011 Talindert Stakes is a set weights plus penalties race for two-year-olds and has drawn a final field of 11 top juveniles.

A number of runners in this year’s Talindert Stakes field are heading towards the $1 million Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield Saturday week and a win this weekend will go a long way in securing their spot in the Blue Diamond field.

In a wide open market currently #10 Anevay is the current $3.30 favourite at Luxbet.

Drawn in barrier nine and due to be ridden by Nicholas Hall, Tim Martin’s Exceed And Excel filly certainly has claims here coming off a close second to One Last Dance in the Blue Diamond Prelude where she displayed fantastic speed.

Anevay is also one of the 53kg lightweights of the field and based on her form last run will likely hit the front to try and lead all the way tomorrow.

As good as Anevay is, the Races.com.au fancy another runner to win the Talindert tomorrow and are tipping the Luxbet $3.90 second favourite #9 Hollyweird.

Flemington Race 1 Tips – 2011 Talindert Stakes Betting

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #9 Hollyweird – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
  • Best Place / Exotic Bets: #10 Anevay, #11 Ervbefel and #5 Almahaab

Gerald Ryan’s speedy Snitzel filly Hollyweird posted back-to-back wins in Sydney before running a game third behind Atomic in the Listed Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) at Sandown in her Melbourne debut last start on February 9.

Benefiting from their first run the Melbourne way of going there, drawn well in barrier six and dropping back in the weights to 54kg tomorrow make Hollyweird the pick of the field for us.

Ryan, originally set to spell Hollyweird after the Chairman’s, has been impressed with how they have pulled up which is a promising sign.

Anevay’s form cannot be ignored and she will run a close second.

To finish off the winning Talindert Stakes Trifecta we like #11 Ervbefel, Michael Kent’s lightly-raced Cranbourne based filly having just her second career run.

Ervbefel was impressive winning by two lengths on debut at Ballarat on February 3, has red hot jockey Craig Williams in the mount and is also a 53kg lightweight.

Also watch for David Hayes’ debutant Almahaab in barrier three, should run well.

Below are the current Talindert Stakes odds to give you an idea of where the money is at in this exciting two-year-olds showdown.
