The first Group race on the Lightning Stakes Day card tomorrow will be the $200,000 Group 3 The Mittys Vanity (1400m) running as Flemington Race 4 and below the Races.com.au team have our insider 2011 The Mittys Vanity Betting Tips.
Due to jump at 2:50pm (AEDST) tomorrow, The Mittys Vanity final field has attracted 10 three-year-old fillies lead by pronounced favourite #8 Do Ra Mi.
Drawn in barrier six and set to be ridden by Luke Nolen, Peter Moody’s smart Savabeel filly Do Ra Mi is dominating The Mittys Vanity betting markets currently the odds-on favourite paying $2 at Luxbet.
Coming off back-to-back wins Do Ra Mi certainly has good form and benefits from her drop back in weight to just 54kg tomorrow.
Her winning margins this year are also impressive, 10 lengths over 1170m at Wangarratta on January 17 and 2 ½ lengths last start over 1200m at Sandown Lakeside.
However, with good depth in this year’s The Mittys Vanity line-up we don’t think Do Ra Mi deserves to be odds-on and are tipping an upset with #5 Southern Speed rated special to win.
Flemington Race 4 Tips – 2011 The Mittys Vanity Betting
- Races.com.au Favourite: #5 Southern Speed – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
- Best Place / Exotic Bets: #8 Do Ra Mi, #9 Absolutely and #1 Shamrocker

Shamrocker could be a good exotic or place bet for The Mittys Vanity 2011
We think this is a great price for her and punters should jump on the odds now before she shortens in the market.
Unbeaten in her two career starts to date, Southern Speed is making her interstate debut on Saturday having only raced on her home track at Morphettville to date.
Both of her wins have been impressive, she is dropping back from 56kg she carried to victory last start to just 54kg in The Vanity and looks to have the class to match it with tougher company here.
Do Ra Mi will run well again and finish second over the 1400m, which is not her preferred distance yet.
Absolutely is our other favourite from The Mittys Vanity field.
Michael Kent’s well-bred daughter of Redoute’s Choice has finished second in both her career starts to date so obviously comes into contention for the placings.
She was impressive in beating Ambers Waltz for second in the Listed Arrow Training Services Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley back in October and should be fresh first-up here.
Absolutely is also drawn ideally in barrier two with champion hoop Craig Williams in the mount.
For punters keen to get in on the high-paying First Four markets, our tip is to add Crown Oaks runner-up Shamrocker into the equation.
