Today’s Horse Racing

  • Pakenham (VIC)Race 1 jumps at 11:54pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

The first TAB meet in Victoria this Friday will take place at Pakenham where a bumper 10-event programme is due to kick off at 11:54pm (AEDST) with the $12,000 DG Jones Australia Fillies & Mares Maiden Plate (1008m).

The afternoon’s later races are where the best betting action is at including Race 8 – the $12,000 Sandown Lodge 0 – 72 Handicap (1008m) at 4:00pm (AEDST) where #3 Shot Of Laughter is our pick of the runners with a good weight and nice draw.

Also watch for improvement from #1 Arctic Point in Race 10 – the $12,000 Minuteman Press Naree Warren 0 – 62 Handicap (1770m) at 5:20pm (AEDST), Greg Eurell’s runner our tip to win despite their hefty weight.

  • Walcha (NSW)Race 1 jumps 1:08pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

Walcha in country New South Wales is set to host a top eight-event meet today with Race 1 – the $10,000 Sean Kelleher Memorial Benchmark 64 Handicap (1000m) kicking things off at 1:08pm (AEDST).

Race 7 – the $25,000 Elders 2011 Walcha Cup (1440m) at 4:50pm (AEDST) is the best race on the card here today and for the win we like the look of #4 Xaarmelody coming off back-to-back wins and drawn ideally in barrier three.

The final event on the card, Race 8 – the $20,000 Graziers Handicap Class 2 Handicap (1000m) at 5:30pm (AEDST) – is also worth checking the odds on and our tip to win is #10 Belle Laude who has performed consistently of late.

  • Canberra (ACT)Race 1 jumps at 1:53pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

In Canberra a seven-race schedule is due to run today, things in the country’s capital getting underway at 1:53pm (AEDST) with the $14,000 The Tradies Maiden Handicap (1000m).

Good variety in the Canberra races today with everything from Class Handicaps to a Country Plate.

Race 7 – the $14,000 Custom Security Services Benchmark 60 Handicap (1400m) at 5:40pm (AEDST) is shaping up as a beauty and #10 Savvy Miss looks hard to beat.

  • Ipswich (QLD)Race 1 jumps at 2:00pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

Queensland’s Ipswich Racecourse will be home to a quality seven-race programme today, the first event being the $10,000 Terry Neale Memorial QTIS Three-Years-Old Maiden Handicap (1200m) at 2:00pm (AEDST).

The last two races on the Ipswich programme are the real highlights.

In Race 6 – the $12,000 Dr Mervyn Fish Memorial Class 1 Handicap (1515m) at 5:10pm (AEDST) #7 Count Romano may be out wide but they have the lead-up form to win at good odds, while for Race 7 – the $12,000 Sky Racing Class 1 Handicap (1200m) at 5:50pm (AEDST) we like #7 Vintage Flint for the win after nearly half the field have been scratched early.

  • Moonee Valley (VIC) Race 1 jumps at 6:45pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

An excellent eight-race Moonee Valley Twilight meet will run under the lights in Melbourne tonight, things kicking off at 6:45pm (AEDST) with the $30,000 Fisher & Paykel Plate (1519m).

  • Sunshine Coast (QLD)Race 1 jumps at 7:30pm (AEDST) – Bet now at Luxbet

The final race meeting set to run this Friday is at the Sunshine Coast Cushion Track in Queensland and the first of six races, the $12,000 Chaps Menswear Class 3 Handicap (1600m), is due to jump at 7:30pm (AEDST).
