2011 CF Orr Stakes Tips – Caulfield Race 7 Betting

Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse will host a cracker of a card this Saturday February 12, the line-up headlined by the $400,000 Group 1 CF Orr Stakes (1400m) and here the Races.com.au team have published our exclusive 2011 CF Orr Stakes tips.

It is a full field in the weight-for-age 2011 CF Orr Stakes tomorrow, with reigning Horse of the Year Typhoon Tracy the favourite to win.

Leading online bookmaker Luxbet currently have Peter Moody’s glamour mare as the $2.40 favourite to win back-to-back CF Orr Stakes.

The Red Ransom five-year-old has been winless for a while, her last victory being in the Group 1 Queen of the Turf Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on April 3 last year, but this isn’t deterring the punters.

Despite finishing third first-up in the Group 1 Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley, Typhoon Tracy ran a super race and will have sharpened up after her first run.

She is also back to 1400m which suites her to a tee.

In the CF Orr Stakes odds, Typhoon Tracy’s stablemate Doubtful Jack has been the best backed runner firming into the $6.50 second elect at Luxbet.

Doubtful Jack

Doubtful Jack has been the best backed runner firming into the $6.50 second favourite for the CF Orr Stakes

But with only two Group race starts to their name, a win in the Group 3 Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m) on September 4 against a weak field and a distant 13th place finish in the Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) in October, we don’t fancy Doubtful Jack giving the Typhoon any trouble.

We are sticking with the race favourite for the CF Orr and suggest our readers do the same and get onto Typhoon Tracy at her still very backable odds at Luxbet.

Caulfield Race 7 Tips – 2011 CF Orr Stakes

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #14 Typhoon Tracy – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
  • Best Place / Exotic Bets: #16 Orentsia, #4 Luen Yat Forever and #6 Trusting

To run second behind the favourite we like Ortensia, Tony Noonan’s Testa Rossa mare the third favourite at Luxbet paying $9.50.

Ortensia, also set to carry 57kg along with Typhoon Tracy, has drawn well with barrier six which gives jockey Mark Zahra plenty of options.

Last start Ortensia ran fourth in the Australia Stakes, which was her first run back on Aussie turf following her gallant fifth in the Group 1 Hong Kong Sprint (1200m) at Sha Tin in December.

Finishing off the winning CF Orr Stakes Trifecta and a nice Place bet is Peter Moody’s third CF Orr runner, Luen Yat Forever.

The former Macau galloper is a recent addition to Moody’s stables, transferred to him after the Honours List five-year-old thrived here during the Melbourne Spring Carnival.

Luen Yat Forever is also resuming after a spell and may be out wide, but with a bit of give in the ground at Caulfield tomorrow following the rain in Victoria, at $8.50 to place through Luxbet they are worth a look in.

For punters wanting to get in on those high-stakes, high-paying First Four markets for the opening Group 1 race of the season, we are backing Trusting to run fourth and just out of the money in the CF Orr tomorrow.

Trusting is another runner at generous odds due to a wide barrier draw, but John Thompson’s Tale Of The Cat four-year-old was impressive last start in Ascot back in December running third in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) and dropping back to 1400m will give them an advantage.

Stay tuned to Races.com.au tomorrow for all the CF Orr Stakes Day coverage including late track tips, scratching and field updates, betting odds and market movers as well as race results.

In the meantime, head to Luxbet and open your account with the online bookie where Aussie punters get better odds and bigger payouts to take advantage of our above CF Orr Stakes tips.
