The chief race meeting of the annual Melbourne Autumn Racing Carnival is Flemington’s Super Saturday of Racing and this year Super Saturday 2011 is scheduled to take place on March 12.
Super Saturday at Flemington features an elite nine-race programme headlined by the $1 million Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) and the $1 million Group 1 Newmarket Handicap (1200m).

Zipping is the early favourite to win the 2011 Australian Cup
Current favourite in the 2011 Newmarket Handicap betting markets is super mare Black Caviar at a short quote of $2.25 followed by Hay List at $10.
Both Black Caviar and Hay List are expected to resume racing for the season on February 19 in the $750,000 Group 1 Lightning Stakes, with the result of this Caulfield feature sprint to have a huge impact on the Newmarket Handicap odds.
Aside from the Australian Cup and Newmarket Handicap, the 2011 Flemington Super Saturday Race Day programme features six other stakes races.
Other showdowns at Flemington on March 12 not to miss include the $500,000 Group 2 Kewney Stakes (1600m) for three-year-old fillies and the $300,000 Group 2 VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) for two-year-old runners.
