As part of the elite Australia Day racing action taking place at Melbourne’s Caulfield Racecourse tomorrow, Wednesday January 26, a top field of two-year-old fillies will line up in the $100,000 Listed Blue Diamond Preview for Fillies (1000m) and the odds on the feature are now out.
Current favourite in the 13-horse 2011 Blue Diamond Preview for Fillies is One Last Dance paying $2.60 to win through Luxbet.
Despite drawing wide with barrier 11, there’s lots of support in the market for Peter Moody’s Encosta De Lago filly One Last Dance.
One Last Dance won on debut at Moonee Valley on December 17 carrying 56.5kg and drops back to 55kg tomorrow making her a top chance.
There are three other youngsters at a single-figure price to win the Blue Diamond Fillies Preview tomorrow with Quench The Thirst and Graskop at $5.50, and Anevay paying $7 through Luxbet.
Fellow Encosta De Lago filly Quench The Thirst also has a wide barrier 13 draw to contend with on Wednesday, Mark Kavanagh’s promising two-year-old on debut.
Graskop has drawn better with barrier seven due to be ridden by in-form hoop Ben Melham, the Peter Snowden-trained daughter of Manton seeking her second win after claiming victory first-up at Sandhill in December and then backing up with a close second last start at Flemington on February 15.
Meanwhile Anevay will seek to break her maiden status, Tim Martin’s Exceed And Excel filly having run second on debut last October but showing more promise with a winning barrier trial at Rosehill a week ago.
For value punters should look towards the unbeaten Motifs seeking her third straight win after back-to-back success in WA and Flemington-based filly Jessica Rose who won at the Caulfield track in December and is nicely drawn in gate four.
The 2011 Blue Diamond Preview (F) is set to run as Race 4 at Caulfield tomorrow, jumping at 2:48pm (AEDST), but don’t wait until then to get in on the action.
