The Chris Waller-trained American Crew has this morning been scratched from the 2011 Magic Millions 3YO Guineas field following veterinary advice.
Three-year-old Stratum gelding American Crew yesterday was examined by Racing Queensland’s veterinary surgeon Dr Martin Lenz and was displaying lameness in their off foreleg.
Another check was undergone this morning and with the leg still presenting issues and the Gold Coast track currently rated a Heavy 9, Rosehill-based trainer Waller has scratched American Crew from the $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas.
The early scratching has given the first emergency, Power Of Ed, a start in Race 6 at the Gold Coast today.
Local Jet Spur colt Power OF Ed is paying $51, one of the roughies in the Luxbet markets, but still a chance with a nice barrier three draw.
American Crew was a $9 chance to win the Magic Millions 3YO feature today through Luxbet.
Waller is now without a runner in Race 6, but his hopes lie in classy filly Fast And Sexy in the day’s headline event, the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic.
Fast And Sexy is a $21 chance in the Magic Millions Classic odds through Luxbet.
