The 2010 Winterbottom Stakes Day is set to take place at the scenic Ascot Racecourse this Saturday, November 27th, as part of the Perth Summer Racing Carnival.
Featuring a bumper line-up of nine quality races, the marquee race of the Festival of Perth Racing meeting is the $750,000 Group 2 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) scheduled as Race 7.
The 2010 Burswood Winterbottom Stakes features a classy field of sprinters lead by early favourites Whitefriars and Waratah’s Secret paying $4.60 and $5 respectively at Luxbet.
Two other black-type races highlight the Winterbottom Stakes Day card with Race 6 the $80,000 Listed Jungle Dawn Classic (1400m) and Race 8 the $80,000 Listed Aquanita Stakes (1800m) featuring competitive fields and lucrative betting markets.
Both the favourites for these Listed races have drawn ideally and look hard to beat with Power Princess in the Jungle Dawn Classic jumping from barrier two and backing up from her win in the Jungle Mist Classic, and WA Guineas winner Playing God drawn in barrier one for the Aquanita Stakes as they head towards the $500,000 Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m) on December 4.
As well as the stakes racing action Winterbottom Stakes Day also features a great food and wine festival with Kate Ceberano the celebrity guest and the Kallis International Jockeys Challenge where hoops from around the globe will face off against Australia’s best riders.
