The updated 2010 Cox Plate odds and betting markets have been released by Australia’s premier online bookmaker Sportsbet following the release of the final field and barriers for this Saturday’s $3 million Group 1 showdown at Moonee Valley.

Reigning champion So You Think remains the clear cut favourite to win, now at a quote of $1.50 after drawing mid-field in barrier five.

The only other Cox Plate runner at single figure odds is the Gai Waterhouse-trained More Joyous.

Coming off a brilliant succession of spring wins, More Joyous is paying $7 at Sportsbet and is drawn ideally in barrier three where jockey Nash Rawiller can take the star mare to the front.

John Wallace’s consistent Queensland gelding Shoot Out, by the same sire as So You Think – High Chaparral, occupies the third line of Cox Plate betting at $12.

Shoot Out is coming off three Group status third places this spring, most recently to Zipping in the Turnbull Stakes at Flemington, and despite drawing wide with barrier nine looks a top Place bet through Sportsbet.

Turnbull Stakes winner Zipping is also backing up in the Cox Plate on Saturday, the Lloyd Williams-owned nine-year-old set to jump beside So You Think from barrier six and is at $15 to win.

The other $15 chance is Whobegotyou, drawn on the far outside in barrier 10 and looking to regain form following their well-beaten third in the Yalumba.

Kiwi champion Wall Street is the next shortest-priced entry at $21 in the Cox Plate odds, set to jump from barrier four in their Australian race debut.

The other international hopeful in the Cox Plate field, Macau’s Luen Yat Forever, and Epsom Handicap winner Captain Sonador are the longest-priced entries paying $101 at Sportsbet.

At $15 to place, Luen Yat Forever could be great value having drawn well in barrier two and sure to improve after their first Australian run finishing fourth to More Joyous in the Toorak Handicap.

However, equal topweight at 59kg, Luen Yat Forever is allocated 3.5kg more than the 55.5kg they carried last start.

The 2010 Tatts Cox Plate is scheduled as Race 8 at Moonee Valley on Saturday, due to jump at 5:35pm (AEDST).
