Beneteau has had a slightly hit-and-miss autumn campaign. The Redoute?s Choice colt burst onto the scene when they took out the Blue Diamond Prelude in early February, but after an excellent and promising preparation he failed to fire in the Blue Diamond Stakes finishing an unlucky third. Following this he placed a dismal sixth from seven horse in the Skyline Stakes behind fellow Golden Slipper rivals Hinchinbrook and Brightexpectations.
Punters are still getting behind him, saying he should have won the Blue Diamond, but others are wary because of his Skyline Stakes performance where he found himself caught up deep.

He has the ability to win when the luck is with him, is bred to win, has drawn reasonably with barrier six and does have big race specialist Michael Rodd aboard, but an intense autumn campaign travelling and racing in Melbourne and Sydney may have left him a bit worn and he will need everything he has to beat this cracking field.
