Unbeaten filly and the warm odds-on favourite for the Group 1 William Reid Stakes, Black Caviar, has been scratched from Saturday’s sprint feature due to a leg injury.
The Peter-Moody trained filly will be spelled for up to a year, unlikely to resume her impressive career until next spring.
Nicconi, the David Hayes-trained Lightning Stakes winner, is now the favourite at $3 with Sportsbet? followed closely by Moody’s other promising runner Wanted at $3.50 for the William Reid Stakes.
