In one of the closest finishes on the Melbourne Cup race day, Ahdashim has narrowly beat race favourite Here De Angels to win the 1200m MSS Security Sprint.
Here De Angels got out early however Uncle Ivan started out a length in front of the favourite along with Custodian and Cocinero.
In the last 200m, Here De Angels was in the narrow lead with Ahdashim closing in on the six year-old gelding in the last 100m.
Ridden by the 2008 Melbourne Cup winning jockey Blake Shinn, Ahdashim won the race by less than nose length followed by Here De Angels and All Cheval in second and third place.
“I knew he was going to be strong…it means a lot to win on this horse on the Melbourne Cup Day,” said Shinn.
