Matt Laurie‘s boom mare Treasurethe Moment is tipped to return to Group 1 winning form when she faces just four rivals as the odds-on favourite in the Might And Power 2025 at Caulfield on Guineas Day.

Saturday sees a triple shot of Group 1 racing action play out in Melbourne including the $1 million Might And Power (2000m) – formerly the Caulfield Stakes – where a diminutive but still exciting field of five will face off in the potential Ladbrokes Cox Plate lead-up.
Dominating the Might And Power betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au is Alabama Express four-year-old Treasurethe Moment who is looking to go back-to-back for the mares after the win by Deny Knowledge last year.
She is a consistency machine having won 10 of her 13 starts to date and is yet to finish outside the top two.
As a filly she completed the rare VRC Oaks – ATC Oaks double and is a four-time Group 1 winner overall having also taken out the Vinery Stud Stakes as a three-year-old before her enormous 2.5 length victory fresh in the Memsie Stakes here at Caulfield.
The Memsie form was franked with the runner-up Mr Brightside going on to win his historic third Makybe Diva Stakes while Treasurethe Moment was forced to the sidelines suffering from a bout of colic that threatened to derail her spring.
Making a good recovery she returned in her delayed second-up run to finish second behind the front-running queen Pride Of Jenni in the Group 2 Feehan Stakes (1400m) at The Valley on September 26 in a run full of merit.
She now heads to Caulfield where she boasts a flawless three-from-three record and also gets out over a more suitable trip making her the deserving favourite albeit at a short odds-on quote of $1.85 through Ladbrokes.com.au.
Damian Lane, who rode her to victory in the Memsie, comes back aboard and Treasurethe Moment is drawn the inside alley which last produced a Might And Power winner in Probabeel (2021).
The danger occupying the second line of betting at current Might And Power odds of $2.35 is the Chris Waller trained Buckaroo.
Last year’s Caulfield Cup runner-up, the imported Fastnet Rock seven-year-old hasn’t won a race since claiming the Underwood Stakes over a year ago.
He lined-up in the Underwood again this spring when runner-up to the Melbourne Cup favourite Sir Delius only a half-length beaten by the subsequent Turnbull Stakes champ so brings in superior form lines to the Might And Power this weekend.
Buckaroo will be out to break his winning drought from gate three on Saturday with the stable’s top rider James McDonald coming aboard for the ride.
The other single figure fancy at $9 is Globe who Blake Shinn is set to partner from barrier two.
The seven-year-old son of Charm Spirit also comes off a lead-up second when runner-up in an 1800m handicap at Sandown with 59kg a fortnight back.
Up notably in grade, Saturday sees him contest a Group 1 race for the first time but he’s being kept safe in the markets as one of two in the field for Mick Price & Michael Kent Jnr along with the resuming 50/1 outsider Hezashocka.
Ciaron Maher meanwhile saddles-up the remaining runner, Light Infantry Man ($13), with the Australian Cup champion last seen running sixth to Fangirl in Sydney’s $1 million 7 Stakes.
The 2025 Might And Power is set to run as Caulfield Race 6 at 3:15pm (AEDT) on Saturday’s 10-race card in Melbourne.
