2018 Tattersall’s Club Tiara: Emergencies not needed, Prompt Response new favourite

The five emergencies were not needed which leaves the original field of sixteen to contest the 2018 Group 1 $500,000 Sky Racing Tattersall’s Club Tiara (1350m) at Doomben today.

Race morning betting moves at Ladbrokes.com.au has seen the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Prompt Response promoted to be the $5 favourite, leap frogging Champagne Cuddles who remains at $5.50.

The Bjorn Baker trained Champagne Cuddles had held her spot at the top of the betting for the last couple of weeks since running third behind Santa Ana Lane and Super Cash in the Group 1 $1.5m Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 9, but the late flow of money has seen Prompt Response take over at the top of the market order.

The locally trained Savanna Amour is the only other runner under the $10 mark at $9 after Stradbroke Handicap runner up Super Cash eased from $9 overnight to be marked at $11 on race morning.

Prompt Response was runner up in the 2017 Tattersall’s Club Tiara behind the Peter and Paul Snowden trained Tycoon Tara and her form over the last twelve months has been consistent and includes a last start second to Invincibella in the Group 2 $200,000 Bundaberg Rum Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 9.

Team Snowden will saddle up Moss Trip this year in the Tattersall’s Club Tiara and the three year filly is marked at $14 coming off a last start third in the Dane Ripper Stakes.

The Group 3 $200,000 Lazy Yak Tattersall’s Cup (2200m) is free of scratchings with a field of ten to go around.

The Darren Weir trained Tradesman is backing up after scoring a tough narrow win last Saturday in the Listed $175,000 Channel 7 Ipswich Cup (2150m) at Ipswich and is the short priced $2.10 favourite for the Tattersall’s Cup at Ladbrokes.com.au.

On the second line of betting at $5.50 is the Mick Kent trained Coldstone just ahead of Divine Unicorn at $6.

The last race on the nine event card is the Group 3 $175,000 W.J. Healy Stakes (1200m) with the field being reduced to fourteen runners after the scratching of Calanda and Upstart Pride.

The Barry Lockwood trained Tumbler is backing up after running sixth to Magic Alibi in the Listed $100,000 Gai Waterhouse Classic (1350m) at Ipswich last week and is the $4 favourite for the W.J. Healy Stakes.
