2015 Naturalism Stakes Day Scratchings & Track Report

An exciting nine race card has been confirmed for 2015 Naturalism Stakes Day at Caulfield Racecourse this afternoon, highlighted by three black type races including the Group 3 feature, contested over 2000m.

It is a fine day in Melbourne today and the Caulfield racing surface has been rated a Good 3 for 2015 Naturalism Stakes Day as a result.

2015 Naturalism Stakes Day will officially get underway with the running of the TROA Supports Nations Jockeys Trust Plate (1100m) at 12:25pm AEST and will culminate in the Cove Hotel Handicap (1600m) at 5:20pm.

The Naturalism Stakes has drawn a talented and capacity field of 16 runners in 2015, highlighted by a number of key prospect for the season’s major staying races including the 2015 Melbourne Cup.

The scratching of leading contender Sertorius and Mornington Cup winner Banca Mo has meant Macedon Lodge runner The United States and Group 1 champion Ethiopia have been drawn into the field, while the Naturalism Stakes will also be the Spring Carnival starting point for Our Ivanhowe.

A number of talented sprinters have been drawn to the Listed Testa Rossa Stakes (1200m), which will jump Race 6 and 3:25pm.

Charlie Boy and Java each performed commendably at the highest level of racing through their most recent preparations, while Fell Swoop will be aiming to post a fourth consecutive win in the race.

Some of the Spring Carnival’s most exciting fillies and mares will contest Naturalism Stakes Day’s other black type race; the Group 3 How Now Stakes (1200m) (William Hill Sprint Series Heat 2 Stakes) at 4:05pm.

The How Now Stakes is shaping as the most exciting event on Naturalism Stakes Day after the likes of Hazard, Wawail, Griante, Girl Guide and Tycoon Tara have all been confirmed in the field of 14.
