Launceston Cup 2011 Betting Tips & Odds

Today the $225,000 Group 3 Launceston Cup (2400m) will continue the action of this year’s Tasmanian Summer Racing Carnival and below we have the exclusive 2011 Launceston Cup betting tips.

The 2011 Launceston Cup field features 16 quality gallopers lead by the punters’ favourite, #3 Bid Spotter.

Currently our preferred online bookmaker Luxbet has Bid Spotter at the top of their Launceston Cup odds paying $4.80 for the win.

Drawn in barrier seven for today’s showdown, the Graeme Rogerson-trained Redoute’s Choice five-year-old from Sydney is out to win back-to-back Cups in Tassie after saluting in the Group 3 Hobart Cup (2200m) last start on February 23.

Bid Spotter, however, is allocated 2kg more in the weights today and also has a wider draw to contend from.

That’s why the Races.com.au team are tipping an upset Launceston Cup result today and think there’s more value to be found backing #5 Organised who we have rated special to win.

Launceston Race 7 Betting Tips – 2011 Launceston Cup

  • Races.com.au Favourite: #5 Organised – Rated Special to Win – Bet now at Luxbet
  • Best Place / Exotic Bets: #3 Bid Spotter, #7 Davcon and #1 Dream Pedlar

Organised has drawn nicely with barrier five in the Launceston Cup today set to carry just 53.5kg, the Commands seven-year-old paying a generous $8 through Luxbet in the Launceston Cup betting.

Last start Organised ran a close second to Bid Spotter in the Hobart Cup, before which they won three on the trot in Tasmania.

The distance is ideal and Organised can turn the tables over the favourite and be the first over the line in the winning Launceston Cup Quinella with Bid Spotter this afternoon.

The other two horses in the Launceston Cup field that we like for the exotics are Davcon and Dream Pedlar.

Davcon looks well positioned to run third today, adding value to the Trifecta with their current double figure odds through Luxbet.

The Heath Conners-trained Victorian raider finished third in the Hobart Cup last start and can do it again today.

Dream Pedlar is one of the top fancies in the market paying $7 to win.

We are tipping the Troy Blacker-trained six-year-old to go one better than their Hobart Cup fifth and come in fourth in the Launceston Cup.

Below are the current Launceston Cup odds on all the runners so you can get a feel for where the money is at in the market.

The 2011 AAMI Launceston Cup is scheduled as Race 7 this afternoon, due to jump at 4:09pm (AEDST).

Head to Luxbet now to lock in your selections and view the updated odds.
