Classy European mare Profound Beauty has been retired from racing, a well beaten finish in this year’s Melbourne Cup disappointingly her final career performance.
The now seven-year-old daughter of Danehill enjoyed an impressive career that included nine wins, four seconds and three thirds from her 21 starts earning in excess of $930,849 in prize money.
Career highlights included three Group status wins and a gallant fifth to Viewed in the 2008 Melbourne Cup.
After returning to Australia for the 150th edition of the Melbourne Cup back in November this year, Profound Beauty could only manage to finish a distant 17th, which unfortunately was her swansong race.
Profound Beauty will now serve as a broodmare.
