James Winks to Ride Precedence in 2010 Melbourne Cup after Blake Shinn Injured

Following the fall of Melbourne Cup jockey Blake Shinn off a horse in Flemington Race 3 this morning, there has been a scheduled rider change for the Bart Cummings-trained Precedence in the 2010 Melbourne Cup.

Moonee Valley Cup winner Precedence is a $23 chance to win the Melbourne Cup, running as Race 7 at 3:00pm (AEDST) this afternoon, through premier online bookmaker Luxbet.

Shinn was stretchered off the Flemington field following his fall from Zauberin and taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Since Shinn has taken medication for the pain and suffering a suspected broken ankle, he has been ruled out of riding in the 2010 Melbourne Cup or from winning his second Melbourne Cup after his success with Viewed (2008).

James Winks will now take the mount on Precedence in the Melbourne Cup.

Does this affect Precedence’s chances in the Melbourne Cup? If you still fancy the Bart factor to shine through and Precedence to finish in the money, add him into your trifectas at a great price through Luxbet now!
