The David Hayes-trained filly Livia has been scratched from today’s Crown Oaks race as she has not recovered from a hoof problem.
Hayes reported yesterday to Racing Victoria stewards that the filly had an abscess in the off-fore hoof which had failed to burst and would decide today on whether Livia would run.
This is the second blow for Hayes as his Melbourne Cup hopeful Changingoftheguard was withdrawn from Tuesday’s race after VRC stewards ruled the horse out of the event.
