The final field and barriers for this Saturday’s Group 1 $500 000 Myer Classic (1600m) were released this morning.
The weight-for-age event looks to be a heated rematch between star females Typhoon Tracy and Hot Danish, following Hot Danish’s loss to the former in the Group 2 Tristarc Stakes (1400m) two weeks ago at Caulfield.
Hot Danish will start from barrier five, while Typhoon Tracy drew wide with gate 13.
Singapore mare Jolie’s Shinju will also be on the field Saturday, looking to make a show stopping return to form. The five-year-old galloper drew gate 4 and will be ridden by Blake Shinn.
Prolific trainer Lee Freedman has produced two entries in the Myer Classic field for Saturday, Emblem Of Liberty starting from gate 12 with Dwayne Dunn aboard and Dane Julia mounted by Damien Oliver from barrier 14.
Other fancied entries include Pat Hyland’s Zarita with barrier 11, Neroli ridden by Kerrin McEvoy from gate 3 and Gai Waterhouse-trained Gold Water with gate 7.
The Myer Classic is race seven on Derby Day’s nine-race card at Flemington and is set to start at 3:40pm.
