Spring has arrived and so have the champion foals with Makybe Diva, Tugela and Miss Andretti all producing foals in the past week.

Three time Melbourne Cup champion Makybe Diva gave birth to a filly foal at the Segenhoe Stud in the Hunter Valley early Friday morning.

The filly will join Makybe Diva’s $1.5 million Galileo colt and Fusaichi Pegasus filly as the mare’s third foal in her three years at stud.

The foal was sired by Australia’s reigning champion stallion, Encosta De Lago.

Tony Santic was particularly cheerful on Friday morning as Makybe Diva’s Dam, Tugela also gave birth to a filly foal by Redoute’s Choice.

Makybe Diva will now be served by More Than Ready, the sire of Golden Slipper winners Sebring and Phelan Ready.

The 2006-07 Australian Horse of the Year, Miss Andretti produced a colt foal yesterday morning after being two weeks overdue.

Sired by Exceed and Excel, the mare and her first foal are now resting at Toolooganvale Stud just outside Scone.
