It is a cool day in Adelaide today with scattered showers forecast across the morning and into the early afternoon meaning the current Soft (7) Morphettville track rating looks set to remain.

Adelaide racing kicks off with Black-Type action in the form of the Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m) for the two-year-olds at 11:36am (ACST) and comes to a close with the 2020 The Goodwood hopefuls facing off in the Group 3 DC McKay Stakes (1100m) at 4:45pm (ACST).

There are two Group 2 support acts on the program starting with the Queen Of The South Stakes (Race 5) run over the mile for fillies and mares where the dozen remaining runners are led in betting at Ladbrokes.com.au by November Dreaming ($3.80).

Next-up the sprints do battle in the Group 2 Euclase Stakes (Race 6) with the Levi Kavanagh-trained Excess Funds (11) the sole scratching in a race the bookies are tipping Redelva Stakes winner Garner ($2.90 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) to dominate.

The first of the day’s feature races gets underway at 3:26pm (ASCT) with the three-year-old fillies stealing the show in the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m).

Run as the 2020 Schweppes Oaks, all 16 original runners remain in the mix including the Chris Waller-trained ATC Oaks runner-up Toffee Tongue ($6 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) who has firmed into favouritism.

The meeting’s marquee event is slated for Race 8 with the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) and of the 16 star females in the line-up the markets suggest a two-horse affair between three-time Group 1 winner Sunlight ($3.10 @ Ladbrokes.com.au) and the incredibly tough two-year-old filly Away Game ($3.90 @ Ladbrokes.com.au).
