Champion trainer Darren Weir has dominated this years Kennedy Mile field, but he’ll be without six-year old gelding Dreamforce who was an early morning scratch.
The son of Fastnet Rock was withdrawn from the race with a vet certificate, which might be good news for punters as Iconoclasm, one of this years emergencies, has been named as the replacement.
Iconoclasm has strung together back-to-back wins and was unbeaten during his two starts at Flemington earlier this year. Weir’s four-year old backs up following a win in the Chandler Macleod (1500m) at The Valley last week in which he sat one-off the pace to storm home around the bend and win by a length.
Weir has never trained a winner of the Kennedy Mile, while jockey Jye McNeil will receive the ride.
Iconoclasm is at $13.00 with Ladbrokes prior to the race.
