The Sydney forecast is for a fine and sunny day and with zero chance of any rainfall, the current Good (4) Rosehill Track Rating is set to remain across the card making for an ace day of autumn racing.

The Rosehill racing action gets underway from 12:15pm (AEDT) and the nine race card continues through until 5:30pm (AEDT) with seven Group status races for punters to enjoy across the afternoon.

The marquee event is obviously the star-studded line-up of fillies and mares in the 2018 Coolmore Classic (Race 7) where the two widest-drawn runners – #16 Slightly Sweet (19) and #19 Shumookh (18) – have been scratched.

Updated Coolmore Classic odds at Ladbrokes.com.au are all about the Chris Waller-trained Egg Tart ($5) who is out to be the first favourite to salute since Aloha (2011).

The Sydney Cup horses do battle in the first Group race of the day – the Sky High Stakes (Race 2) – and the final spots in Saturday week’s Golden Slipper field are up for grabs to the winners of the Magic Night Stakes (Race 3) and Pago Pago Stakes (1200m).

The Group 2 support acts are the Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) for the three-year-old where Coolmore Classic scratching Shumookh is the hot favourite and the Ajax Stakes (Race 8) for potential Doncaster Mile runners.
