Randwick Track Report – 21/04/2018

  • Rail: +6m 1600m – W/P, +4m Remainder
  • Penetrometer: 4.87
  • Weather: Fine
  • Track Type: Turf
  • Track Rating: Good (3)
  • Irrigation: 2mm last 24hrs; 8mm last 7 days
  • Rainfall: Nil last 24hrs; 1.6mm last 7 days

It is a mostly fine day in Sydney across the afternoon with only a 20% chance of scattered showers around lunchtime meaning the current Good (3) Randwick track rating should remain in place.

Randwick racing kicks off at 12:00pm (AEST) and the nine race card continues through until 4:55pm (AEST) with two Group 1 races headlining the line-up.

The first is Randwick Race 6 with the 2018 Champagne Stakes over the mile for the two-year-olds and the latest markets at Ladbrokes.com.au have the ATC Sires’ Produce third placegetter Outrageous ($4.80) as favourite with all 13 final acceptors still in the mix.

The day’s marquee race is next-up with the 2018 All Aged Stakes over 1400m running as Randwick Race 7 and the field is down to 10 after three scratchings.

Trainer Darren Weir has withdrawn import and Melbourne Cup performer Red Cardinal (12), Kris Lees has Le Romain as his sole chance after Clearly Innocent (7) came out and trainer Chris Waller’s contingent is down to two runners after the scratching of Endless Drama (10).
