First up specialist Super Cash wins Schillaci Stakes

First up specialist Super Cash added to her outstanding fresh record with a gutsy win in the Group 2 $400,000 Keno Kwikpik Schillaci Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield today.

The Andrew Noblet trained Super Cash was having her first race start since finishing tenth to Secret Agenda in the Group 1 $1m Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville during the Adelaide Autumn Carnival and made it four first up wins from five goes.

Super Cash also kept her 1100m Caulfield record intact and made it three wins from three attempts over that course and distance with today’s win.

Regular rider Katelyn Mallyon had Super Cash ($5) perfectly placed to pounce on the leaders and she made her move once heads were turned for home.

The five year old Written Tycoon mare dug in for the fight over the concluding stages and was able to get a nose decision over Illustrious Lad ($11) with Rock Magic ($5.50) finishing hard out in the middle of the track for third.

Winning trained Andrew Noblet said that he would wait to see out Super Cash pulled up before making any further Spring Carnival Plan for his stable star.

“She goes really well fresh,” Noblet said.

“When the barrier draw came out with two and the way she was during the week I was pretty confident heading here but not over confident as she is just an honest mare.”

“To get a nice race like this under her belt going to the Autumn is fantastic.”

“Hopefully she comes through it well and plan from there. We like to space her runs a bit.”
